Dutch Open Championships – De Peel, 7-9th September 2013

This was a special competition! As there was no wind on Sunday, Jan Odeyn offered his Grumman Guardian for flying by all pilots, and all pilots took up his offer! Most left their planes in the car, and although the Guardian flew all day, it says a lot for the high skills of the pilots and the robustness of the Guardian’s design that only props were broken.

Jan found it a useful experience; he had the opportunity to fine-tune the model after each landing, so the next competitor could benefit. The results of this unique “share a plane” competition are shown in the first table below.
